Uranus Taurus Transit and What It All Means

We know the future doesn’t necessarily proceed along a single course
There ought to be a future we could CHOOSE
It’s up to us to find it.

So much has happened in the last couple months, it’s been a beautiful kind of whirlwind.

I’ve been giving a lot of thought to the Uranus transit happening in Taurus right now. Uranus takes 84 years to reach the same place in the sky once, and it spends about 8 years in any one sign. This time around, it happens to be in Taurus. It entered Taurus on May 15th (the same day as the Taurus New Moon, kind of a big deal) and will briefly retrograde into Aries on November 6th, return to Taurus on March 7th, 2019 and stay until April 26, 2026.

Uranus rules Aquarius, a sign best known as the rebel, the iconoclast. It rules electricity and technology. The 11th house, Aquarius’ natural domain, rules friendship, society and the world at large. Taurus represents the 2nd house on the general astrological wheel, which has to do with structure, the material world, the home, money, self-worth.

Uranus is, in Greek mythology, one of the first populators of the world with Gaea. Uranus translates as "the sky” from the Greek ‘Ouranos.' Gaea was feeling very spiteful and plotted with their children to overthrow Uranus from his throne. Cronos (Saturn; which means Time), the youngest son, agreed.

One night, Cronos approached his sleeping father, and castrated him.

The End.

Haha, not really… Uranus, while banished, is sure to come back every 84 years and do some massive restructuring, touching upon all the points above when in Taurus.

We often think of Saturn as the task-master planet and dread his return. While Saturn is that father figure, he is only that because he deposed his own father (and also happened to eat his own children one day—but we’ll save that story for another Time!), and his lessons are of a more immediate sense—his presence is in our lives in a closer way than Uranus. Saturn’s cycle is only 28 years, not 84.

Uranus cycling back into Taurus is a period of massive displacement, of “seismic change.” A LOT changes. Indeed, the entire material world and society transform. It’s up to us to create it.

The next 8 years are going to be a wild ride. Buckle up. And use the next 5 or so months to prepare for it.
